The Dark Knight Rises is the title of the next Batman sequel.
Distributor Warner Bros confirmed the name for director Christopher Nolan's third adventure about the DC Comics vigilante hero, which follows Batman Begins in 2005 and The Dark Knight [ Images ] in 2008.
The Dark Knight Rises is due in theatres July 20, 2012, reports the Sydney [ Images ] Morning Herald.
Bucking Hollywood's current wave of 3D movies, Nolan is not planning to shoot the film in 3D.
Warner Bros had agreed with Nolan's argument that the sequel should resist the 3D craze, the director told the Los Angeles Times' Hero Complex blog, which first reported the title.
Nolan would not reveal what villain might appear in The Dark Knight Rises, but he said it would not be the Riddler, one of the key bad guys in the comics and past film and TV Batman tales.
Earlier this year, Nolan said he would not resurrect the Joker, the cackling villain played by Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight.

Geen enkele bekende villain gaat het worden, helaas.
Harvey Bullock is atm gerumored gespeeld door Tom Hardy.
As of now, it's been confirmed that Mr. Freeze, the Riddler, and the Penguin will not be included. Popular fan belief is that Catwoman or Black Mask will be included. However, that is purely speculation. It could be someone completely unexpected. The writers have said they want to utilize a more unknown villain. It's possible Talia Al Ghul may have a role, as either a potential romantic interest for Bruce or anti-hero/villain or both.

Ik blijf erbij, de titel is gewoon afschuwelijk en duidelijk niet de keus van Nolan maar van de studio. The dark knight was een monsterlijk succes, dus die titel moet behouden worden, bah.
En voor villain, mss is het een publiciteitsstunt en zullen we toch eindigen met The Riddler, ik hoop erop. Een catwoman als tegenspeelster zou ook nog prima zijn, maar dan moet er wel nog een andere "main" villain aan te pas komen natuurlijk.

Ik voel The Dark Knight Rises Again al aankomen dan. Echt Slechte Titel. Nuja, eerst vond ik the Dark Knight ook al slecht maar dan hoopte ik toch bij deze derde dat ze ook weeral een volledige nieuwe titel zouden nemen/maken.
Voor de rest, batman begins vond ik niet geweldig en zijn sequel ook niet. Geen slechte films hé, gewoon niet geweldig, dus ik kijk er niet naar uit...
